They came back hungry for more...

After a week off for half term (or was it to get over the New Milton festival?), our Minis came back keen to learn more and play more matches.

At New Milton, while they all did brilliantly, we identified a few key areas to work on, so adapted some games to get them used to picking up,the ball and running as well as passing the ball down the line. It's great to see their enthusiasm and while it took a few goes, they soon got it right and it was great to see them improve through the session.

We finished off with some practise matches and it was brilliant that they'd remembered from New Milton not to pass forward (most of the time) and they scored some great tries and defended really well. Roll on the next tournament!

Thanks go to Pip's mum and dad for the new trophy; much appreciated. This week, one of our younger players stood out. Doing really well in all parts of the session despite still officially being an Under 6, this weeks winner was Archie (Whitfield).

Don't forget, this Sunday we're at Tottonians for some friendly training. Start time is 10.30am so a lie-in - yeah, right!

We now have the RFU raffle tickets. To remind you, in previous years the club have kept 90% of the ticket value with 10% going back to the RFU. This year, the club have kindly allowed each team to keep 80% of the ticket sales they make with 10% to the club and 10% to the RFU. This can be spent on equipment for our team (anything rugby related); if we sell all our books, we'll potentially have over £400 to spend. Flag/banner and big shelter for tournaments have been suggested; if you have any other ideas or suggestions, please let us know.
