More new players, and some great play.

We're almost halfway through the season, and we've got more new players starting. After some quick introductions, it was down to the serious business of having fun!

Recently, we've been concentrating on passing, running with the ball, and dodging players/defenders, so it was high time we switched it around and concentrated on defence. After some initial misunderstandings, we had some defensive lines that would make even Manu Tuilagi struggle to break through! Some great work by all!!

We now have enough players coming regularly to split into two squads/teams - which is great as we can really replicate match conditions for the kids. We owe a huge debt of thanks to Molly, Tom and Alan for helping out with the coaching and making these splits possible. If any other parents would like to get involved with helping out in any way please speak to Andy or Duncan one Sunday - the more the merrier!

Scarey MkII (the trophy man) took a bit of a tumble recently, so thanks to Archie's mum and dad for bringing along Scarey MkIII - and a trophy! We really struggle to pick trophy winners sometimes, so having two will make things a bit easier for us.

This week, our playing trophy took a rare trip - to a newbie player. It's been quite a while since someone won the trophy on their first week, but having looked like he'd been playing for ages, Joe Burne was a deserved winner - well done Joe!

The trophy was a more tricky decision. We don't always give the trophy out based on that week's performance, and often call into the mix performances over previous weeks as well as the Core Values (Respect, Sportsmanship etc). After a few good weeks, and showing good rugby spirit, this weeks trophy winner was Matthew - well done Matthew!

This week we turn to the serious business of Christmas training and a party afterwards. Don't worry, the only serious part is the 9am start (eek) but this is to let us play some rugby before finishing at 9.45am to hit the clubhouse for party food and drink! Santa hats, Antler ear muffs, Christmas jumpers all encouraged (if not expected!).

See you all on Sunday for some fun!!
