A trip to the seaside

Dan and Jon of Bournemouth RFC made us feel very welcome, and we soon got down to some rugby.

Visiting other clubs is always an experience; the kids get to try some new games and skills - and so do the coaches! After a warm up and Tag Wrestling, we moved into some more matchplay related games.

With so many coaches present, it was nice for me, as Head Coach, to stand back a bit and watch from a distance. It was really nice to think back to New Milton in October, and those little manic rugby players running around, and compare them to our current fast running, direction changing players.

Our defensive lines were strong and held fast, doing so well to draw compliments from the Bournemouth coaches!!

As we were spread over various pitches, it was really difficult for us to pick out individuals for the trophies, so we held them back for a week. It was nice though that as Bournemouth gave out their weekly medals, they included Joe Burne as a winner! Well done Joe!!

A big thanks to Bournemouth RFC, Dan and Jon in particular, for a great session - and sausage and chips after :-)

We’re at PBL this Sunday and we’ll be focussing on avoiding tags and passing to our team ready for the upcoming tournaments.
