Despite the almost arctic conditions, our U7’s acquitted themselves admirably at last weekend’s triangular session with Wimborne and Swanage & Wareham.
After some Stick In The Mud to get the blood pumping, we got down to playing round-robin matches against the other two clubs.
A few things stuck out to me as Head Coach;
We’re really getting the hang of rugby now! Some excellent running in to space, support play, defensive work - and try after try after try scored!!
Core Value shown in heaps! No arguing when a decision went against them, all playing in the true spirit of rugby and plenty of respect for their teammates and opponents.
Some great wins too! Quite a few of the games were very close, but I think we edged more than we lost. I know it’s all about the fun, and not about the winning, but seeing the joy on our player’s faces as they realise they’ve won is a joy to behold. Makes it all worthwhile!!
This weekend is our Christmas session; Christmas jumpers, reindeer antlers, Santa hats, tinsel all highly recommended, if not expected. After our session, we will adjourn to the clubhouse for some snacks and treats before taking a break until the New Year.
Look forward to seeing you all Sunday :)
