They shone in the sun!

Unfortunately, the weather seems to have settled into a 'fine-mid-week-very-wet-Saturday' pattern, which builds our hopes up, then dashes them again when our pitches at the club become waterlogged and unusable. Thankfully, despite having to move Camp ERRFC to Potterne again, we were able to play some rugby in the sunshine!

While the kids have got the hang of the basic skills of rugby, we need to start working on teamwork, communication and understanding of the game. All too often, we see a player pass to their friend from school, even if they're miles away on the opposite sideline, and there are better placed teammates in between. Don't worry, this is normal, and you'll see all the other teams at tournaments do exactly the same!

Over the next few weeks, we'll work on the principles of teamwork, and make sure all team members become involved in the matches, and not just the good friends!!

I think you'll all agree though, we have some good rugby players developing, with good running, lots of tags being pulled, strong defending and plenty of tries.

So, to this week's trophies...

A consistent performer, but stepping up this week to play some good games, with movement into space, running with the ball and passing before getting tagged, this week Nehe Milner-Scarey goes to Seth. Well done, Seth!
(It's not a written rule, but a coach's child has to do even better than normal to receive a trophy, so you get an idea of Seth's performance).

With some superb running, pulling lots of tags, including a few try-saving tags, and plenty of fast running and try scoring, this week's trophy winner is Will. Well done, Will!!

Sunday 14th sees us taking a break for half term, so enjoy your lie in and we'll see you on the 21st, hopefully at the club!
