As we move into a throng of tournaments, most of our Sunday sessions will be devoted to matchplay; after all, it’s what the kids want to do! We still need to pull them up now and then, just to ask the ‘how could we have done this better’ kind of questions; they know what they’re doing now, it’s more a case of doing it more efficiently :)
After some working getting this kids to use a teammate to get past the defence and not necessarily go themselves, and for the defence to stand their ground and not chase the ball, we got down to the matter in - matches!
As well as watching some great tries being scored, it was really pleasing to see some strong defence and plenty of tags being taken - we even have a few captains starting to emerge. So many kids were playing so well, it was really hard to pick some trophy winners. We had a shortlist of about 6 names, and had to whittle that does to just two.
Hehe Milner-Scarey: For a week of running, scoring, tagging and generally playing in great spirit, this week’s Scarey winner is Jamie. Well done, Jamie!
Trophy: Week on week, this week’s trophy winner has been improving and improving. Some kids come in with a bang, some have good weeks and bad weeks, and some just get better and better. Coach’s kids often get overlooked too, so doubly well to Angus!!
