Bournemouth Tournament

This was our first outing as an age group to an ‘A’ tournament. These are occasions where clubs pick the best and strongest squads, and play against the best and strongest squads of other clubs, with some clubs having travelled quite some distance to take part. ERRFC don’t follow the same ethos, believing that every player is equal, and should be given an equal chance to play against all opposition.

Considering we were up against the ‘best of the best’, we did very well! It was a bit of a turnaround from the previous weekend’s Oaks Festival win as we finished way down the rankings, but the kids all did us proud! They played their hearts out and never gave in, trying to score right until the final whistle. When you consider we were up against ‘A’ sides, we only narrowly lost matches by a try or three, and even managed to win some halves.

At no point though did the kids ever give up, or look disheartened, they played to their best ability and did our club proud. Well done all!!
