Mr T would have been proud!!

As part of the RFU Coaching philosophy, there are lots of elements for us to include in a session; APES, Core Values, 5 C's, Principles Of Play etc (speak to Andy if you'd like to know what all these mean), so it's particularly pleasing when a session goes according to plan and the kids just get it - and smash it out the park!

Despite disappointing some players by moving them from their normal position close to the ball out on to the wing, we stuck with the plan and gave some of the quieter players more of the central play while encouraging teamwork and ball distribution so everyone saw the ball.

Any disappointment swiftly turned to elation as it quickly became apparent that staying spread out and supporting each other to play as a team lets everyone score loads of tries!! At last!!!

With space to run into, and players on their shoulder to pass to, it was a real pleasure to watch their joy as they all scored time after time. If we play like that in tournaments...

We're hosting Eastleigh this Sunday, so it will be interesting to see how we get on against a well drilled age group.

So, to the trophies. Each week it gets harder and harder to pick trophy winners - all the kids are making great progress. But...

Tagtastic. After scoring lots of tries and taking even more tags, this week Tagtastic goes to Dylan. Well done, Dylan!!

Scarey. Revelling in his new found position of sweeper, and acting like an All Black with great running lines, support play and scoring lots of tries - and taking an armful of tags, this week Scarey goes to Matthew. Well done, Matthew!!

Trophy. What an we say about this week's trophy winner? 'Superb' would be a good word! I don't know what he had for breakfast, but I hope he has it every week! Literally on fire, relishing the space to run in, scoring heaps of tries and tagging like Mr Tag on National Pull A Tag Day, this week the trophy goes to Mawgen. Well done, Mawgen!!

See you all Sunday :)
