There's no denying it, that was chilly first thing Sunday! It didn't stop the kids getting stuck in running around like proper little rugby players.
We're currently spending some time reinforcing key skills and the Core Value #Teamwork. Push Passing practice seems to be paying off and there was some great support work once we got into matches - when a Tag came off, there was normally at least two players in great positions to receive the pass and continue play towards the try line.
Great to see!!!
We struggled a little picking trophy winners this week. Ok, 'struggled' might make it sound like they weren't doing very well, but that wasn't the case, so many of them are playing such good rugby now it's difficult to choose between them! We eventually made some decisions though.
Tagtastic.
Yet another great all-round performance, and pulling Tags like a machine, this week, Tagtastic goes to Harry. Well done, Harry!
Trophy.
Such a hard choice this week, so we looked back over the last few weeks for our trophy winner. Trophy winners need to exhibit more than just playing skill; it's about effort, enthusiasm, attitude and, of course, rugby's Core Values. One player in particular has not only been trying hard during the sessions to improve their playing ability, they've also been working really hard on their Core Values.
A big part of the coaching courses I've done over the last few seasons underpins the RFU's philosophy of not just teaching kids how to play rugby, but 'developing children through rugby'.
Well, the RFU need look no further than this week's trophy winner. Congratulations Jude, your great rugby skill and hard work has paid off!!
