What a game!!

ERRFC Colts vs Tadley Colts is always a close game, and this year was no exception. Having lost their only 2 games to Tadley last year the ERRFC Colts were out to change that this year, and they did it in style. Credit must go to both teams for an excellent game of rugby from both sides which the spectators thoroughly enjoyed.
Tadley started the stronger and were camped in the Ellingham half for an extended period. Eventually this pressure told and Tadley got the ball out to their right wing who touched down in the corner. The conversion was unsuccessful.
Tadley continued applying pressure to Ellingham, and at times Ellingham were their own worst enemies with a number of knock on's and turned over possession. However in a period where they were able to hold the ball for a number of phased they got the ball out to winger Archie Campbell, he backed himself, and went out wide, passing 2 cover tacklers before touching down in the corner. The conversion was unsuccessful.
Half time 5-5
Ellingham Colts came out with much greater intent in the 2nd half and were pressuring Tadley. From a scrum on the 10m line, Ellingham Colts went blind, feeding the ball to Archie Campbell who scored his second. The conversion was unsuccessful.
Ellingham continued to extend their lead, sustained pressure on the Tadley line resulted in a charged down clearance kick, Oli Hind gleefully collected the ball and trotted over for a try, Hector converted. The Ellingham Colts were not done, Freddie Searle collected the restart, and showing a turn of pace that surprised the Tadley defence took off down the left touchline, only a last ditch tap tackle stopped him, but Freddie regained his feet and got over the try line. The conversion was unsuccessful.
At this point Ellingham took their foot off the gas a bit and allowed Tadley back in, scoring a converted try. However they were not done, and they worked their way back into the Tadley half, great hands saw the ball moved out to the right wing, from the resultant work Max made great ground, Isaac Taylor then picked up from the back of the ruck and crashed over, sealing a well deserved Man of the Match performance.
