Last Sunday, we were joined by half a dozen Fordingbridge U7's for a joint session. Our U7's welcomed our visitors, and we played a few games together - with a bit of inter-club competition and rivalry!
Some games went better than others, but all the kids seemed to be having a great time, even with the odd scraped knee or bonked head - thankfully, nothing serious!
It is getting really difficult for us to pick a trophy winner as all the kids are doing so well. One player stood out, for not standing out. Playing the games really well, and paying attention in between games made Oliver Leamon our trophy winner this week - well done Ollie!
Quick note for our parents (and please excuse the egg-sucking lessons): As temperatures drop, can you please ensure your little rugby players are warmly dressed. We often think of adding jumpers, trousers and jackets, but sometimes extremities get missed - there's nothing worse than a cold finger trying to catch a rugby ball! Gloves, wooly hats etc all good. And don't forget, Forest Sports in Ringwood have a great range of ERRFC warm kit in small sizes - well worth checking out.
Can you please also ensure that your kids bring a drink with them. Even in the cold, body fluid levels drop quickly and kids dehydrate especially when they're running around for an hour. Most kids do have drinks, but we have noticed a few who regularly ask us for drinks at some point during the session - we'll look after them on the pitch, but we can't provide drinks (moan over).
