On Sunday 10th September, the ERRFC Girls U15s played Trojans U15s away. Having only trained twice, some urgent scrum and line out work was needed just before kick off.
Thanks to last years’ coaching staff the core of the U15s team was very strong and with new additions and girls coming up from the U13, we managed to put out a full strength team.
Very early on it was very evident of the ball carrying prowess of the U15s, with Captain Olivia Horton leading from the front and Leah Rogers, Jessica Gollop, Charlotte Green, Ellie Witherington and Niamh Fry able lieutenants.
Superbly controlled by the half backs Alice Wood & Alex Avoth tries very quickly followed and at half time the U15s were winning 34-0. The girls kept up the pressure in the 2nd half and with some fantastic defence by Sophie Wilding, Saskia Kenworthy and Kirsty Hurlock, Trojans failed to score and the final result was 64-0. This was an excellent start to the season and with Eve Coulling, Maisy Maloney, Amber Lee and Tessa Lovatt new to the Club and making their debut, it bodes well for the rest of the season
