A strong performance secures a win for our U15 girls against Dorchester Cluster.

For the first time this season we were able to field 14 players for today's fixture against Dorchester cluster group. This is a direct result of the work Andy Stevens has done with Hampshire RFU and the all schools programme within the local secondary schools. The girls have also been instrumental in encouraging their peers to join them at training on a Wednesday evening.

Several of our girls are new to rugby this season and for Georgia this was her first competitive game for ERRFC but that didn't stop her from scoring a fantastic try in the first half. Our more experienced players took the lead today and delivered well defensively, contesting with strength and determination at the breakdown. The girls fundamental handling skills were excellent and they finished the first half 39 v 5 with 4 girls getting on the scorecard. The second half we included some restrictions for players (only allowed to assist not score tries/only allowed to run 10m before offloading). As always the girls responded with a positive attitude despite the conditions in place. An additional 3 girls added their names to the scorecard in the second half as the girls solved the challenges in front on them.

Lots of positive running forward, good spatial awareness on the pitch to make use of the width and space on the edges of the pitch. A few things to work on but exciting start to the New Year.

Special well dones to Millie - who successfully kicked 3 conversions and to Marianna who captained the team to victory today.

Try scorers: Biba (3), Marianna (3), Gracie (2), Holly (1), Millie (1), Rosie (1), Georgia (1)
