Away fixture with the full u13/u15/u18 gang...

With all the festivities of Christmas and New Year a distant memor,y our girls are back to it with a cluster fixture vs Dorchester , Bournemouth and Sherborne combined.

With the usual January grey weather in full swing and a nasty bug going round (not a flea with a flick knife ) we travelled to Dorchester for the fixture taking 13 girls.
Sophie B, Lola M, Lottie P, Lula R, Kitty T, Sophie P , Molly L, Millicent C, Lara H, Sophia T, Romilly L, Ellie J and Belle J.

We decided to play 4 x10 minute quarters. with the girls in high spirits as usual they took to the pitch against a very good Dorch combined team.

We got off to a tentative start with Dorch scoring early on and showing some very nice running skills.

With every play our girls were getting more confident and showing promise with some attacking moves scoring one of their own. Dorch proved too strong in attack and scored a couple more well executed trys putting them ahead in the first quarter.

With the second quarter under way E&R upped their game completing more tackles and competing at the ruck a little fiercer. Dorch unperturbed, carried on probing E&Rs defences with good effect , ending in some nice scores. E&R were far from out of the game and went on to get a score for themselves.

The third quarter saw the girls really starting to work off the excess mince pies, with the usual suspects flying around the pitch and tackling anything that moved Dorch seemed to tire a little at this point but were definitely not out ,scoring several skillfully made trys. One particular instance saw a fantastic team effort as the E&R girls dig deep and held up a try to deny Dorch of another score. Another try for us and the whistle was blown

Quarter 4 saw the challenge put down from the coaches for the girls to win this quarter and more importantly enjoy the final part of the match.
They took the challenge by the horns and went out with purpose and vigour out scoring their opponents and generally playing great rugby, by the final whistle the girls had met their goal and beat the challenge set for them.

A good afternoons rugby played in great spirit with smiles and laughter throughout

Well done to all the girls, they are a pleasure to coach. A big thank you to Chris B for tending the whistle once again and thank you to Dorchester , Bournemouth and Sherborne for hosting us.
