Ellingham & Ringwood Under 14's held on away at Bournemouth to win a very tight match 15-21; It is the first time the boys in the current Under 14 Squad have managed to beat Bournemouth, (at any age level), so this is an extremely important win.
Both sides scored three tries apiece but it was the boot of Ellingham & Ringwood that secured the additional, (and winning), points on the conversions.
Ellingham try scorers were Aaron "The Viking" Moritzen, Oli "Shorty" Johnson and Adam "The Pharoah" Kalim. All three tries were converted by Oli Johnson.
The coaches used a staggering total of 25 different players, (allowing all squad members to play at least a half), so to come away with a win whilst rotating the squad and maintaining momentum and cohesion of the team was no mean feat.
The match unfortunately had to be stopped in the last few minutes of the second half due to a neck/back injury to one of the Bournemouth team; All the players, coaches and parents wish him a speedy recovery.
Today's match is an important landmark victory and hopefully will serve as a spur for next week's Hampshire Cup match away at local rivals, New Milton.
Come On The Ellingham!!
