Girls u13's: Fareham & Petersfield Away

Today saw the ERRFC Girls u13s travelling to Fareham to play a friendly vs Fareham Heathens and Petersfield combined team.

Another great turn out meant we took 21 girls to the fixture:

Romalie B, Poppy C, Lucy S, Emilia W, Jas B, Lola S, Lily DC, Ellie DC, Elle B, Sophia T, Olivia O, Kitty T, Alexis B, Sophie P, Millicent C, Abby N, Lara H, Ellie J, Belle J, Emma F and Molly L.

The sun was shining today but the pitches looked more like the scene of a swimming gala than a rugby match. So much for dry January but a little bit of water never stopped us having a great Sunday.

With the girls all mixing in together to make 3 even groups they split and had 3 skill zones. One scrummaging, another tackling and a small sided game in rotation.

When it came to the match, a slightly smaller pitch was set up to avoid any standing water , the girls split into 2 teams F&P with a few E&R girls to bolster the ranks and a team made up of only E &R girls.

From the kick off the girls got going with nice skills on show from both sides. Tackling and rucking improvements for E&R from the previous weeks and some lovely passing moves opening up space for runners to score tries. By the end of the game there were some muddy, happy girls all of which had plenty of gametime and got to showcase their skills.

All in all a nice fixture, the coaches were friendly and the F&P girls were polite and happy to mix .

A big thank you to our girls who played alongside F&P, you showed a great example of TREDS ( Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline, Sportsmanship) as did all the girls .
